Salvation Army Charity Campaign

This year at Christmas time, The Salvation Army is once again collecting with its ‘Red kettles’ at a number of places around Latvia. Money from the kettles goes to funding the special Christmas meal for those who are usually clients at their soup kitchens. Although we cannot sit down and enjoy time together with entertainments this year (due to Covid restrictions) we are still planning on making a really special meal to give out.

The Salvation Army also have the opportunity this year for people to give on their website:

On the website it is possible to choose where you would like your money to be used – to help with the soup kitchens, work with families or summer camps for children. The Salvation Army does quite an extensive work with children throughout the year. They have two day centers for children where children can come, eat, get help with homework, learn life skills and spend time in a safe, friendly environment. They are also arranging a lot of camps and activities for children during the summer. Every year they also have a ‘Family camp’ which allows families to spend time together, by the sea. Many families who would otherwise not be able to afford that.

The Salvation Army is grateful for any and every donation people are kind enough to give. They would also like to wish everyone at the British Chambers a very Happy and peaceful Christmas time.
