The Pink Train Foundation Will Participate in the Lattelecom Riga Marathon

The Pink Train Foundation will have a team of  runners participating in the Lattelecom Riga Marathon on 20th May, for the fourth year in a row, in order to raise funds through sponsorship, towards the charity's work, supporting breast cancer patients throughout Latvia.

This year they are proud to have the first marathon runner, Laura Andrade joining from the UK. Laura will attempt to run 42 KM here in Riga for Latvia's centenary marathon - good luck Laura!

No less brave are the half marathonists - five in total: Aija Zandberga (LV), Matthew Medd (UK), Louis Dowling (UK), Dzintra Kārkliņa (LV) and Gita Gintere Kikuste (LV).

Preparing for 10 KM are: Jenna Heidel (US) Jonny Taylor (UK), Peter Petersons (UK), Līvija Uskale (LV), Zinta Uskale (LV), Anda Dude (LV), Evita Kalniņa (LV), as well as special guests from Norway, retired marathon runner Sven Serigstad and his daughter Anne Marthe Serigstad.

Possibly the bravest are 6 KM runners: Tanya Wienand (NZ), Diāna Briede (US/LV), Ēriks Uskalis (LV), as well as the entire Rialland family, Tony, Līga, Matīss and Sven (LV/FR).

You, dear BritCham member, have the opportunity to support the Pink Train Foundation team by transferring a donation directly to their bank account. Your donation will not only encourage the team, it will help them continue providing support for women - and men - in Latvia suffering from breast cancer. Just 20 EUR pays for one physiotherapy or counselling session for a patient - important aspects to help recover from the disease.

The Pink Train Foundation has been granted the status of public benefit organisation.

Information for making donations can be found here.
