Norvik Banka changes its name to PNB Banka

As from this 9 November, Norvik Banka’s group changes its name to PNB Banka. The bank will continue to provide all the existing services, as well as extend its availability and offer even more convenient day-to-day financial activities for everyone, irrespective of their age, status or level of well-being. For the bank’s clients, all the contracts and agreements concluded previously with AS Norvik Banka remain in force, and everyday communication with the bank will continue as usual within a wide branch network throughout Latvia. 

The Chairman of the Board of PNB Banka Oliver Bramwell noted: “In order to strengthen our positions in the Latvian market, we have worked purposefully at increasing the bank’s efficiency over the last five years. It has resulted in a wide branch network across Latvia, online bank that is the most convenient for seniors, Citizen Card that allows receiving benefits granted by municipality, profitable Tier 2 pension plans, customised solution for the disadvantaged people to receive welfare, as well as in a seniors employment program, thus being even closer to our clients. Moreover, last year we revised the bank’s strategy and defined our profile in the Latvian financial sector, strengthened the bank’s management team and the composition of the council. We see the change of the bank’s name as the next stage of development.”

For more than a year, the bank’s priority has been a special focus on financial needs and habits of seniors. We have not only developed new banking products specially intended for seniors (such as a bank account for seniors, inheritance account, cheaper utility bills, etc.) but also introduced a seniors employment program. As from today, we also offer a customised solution for the disadvantaged people to receive welfare. 

“We are a bank for people; therefore, we not only shorten but also expand the name by adding the value – a person. The letter “P” in the new name is borrowed from the word “people”. Thus, the new name of the bank, PNB Banka, covers one of the basic values of our current activity – a person and human relations. Along with the change of the name, we demonstrate our availability to everyone who appreciates the most advantageous financial services that are most adequate to their needs,” highlighted O. Bramwell. 

In parallel with the introduction of the new name, we will improve our customer servicing process by introducing new quality standards at all levels of the bank’s operation, including the employee trainings. 

The change of Norvik Banka’s name to PNB Banka will be implemented gradually. The complete introduction of the new name in more than 40 branches throughout Latvia will be implemented in a longer term.

It is important to remind once again to the bank’s clients that all the contracts and agreements concluded previously with AS Norvik Banka remain in force (including accounts, account numbers, agreements, payment cards, deposits, loans, etc.),  and the clients should not do anything. The bank will continue to work in the ordinary and usual course. 

PNB Banka is a local bank with 26 years of experience, and it is one of the Latvia’s top ten banks in terms of the asset amount. The bank is proud to have almost 600 employees and approximately 100 thousand clients, and it pays special attention to seniors who form approximately two thirds of total clients. Moreover, as from today we invite the disadvantaged people to learn about the bank’s customised solution for receipt of welfare.
