Burns Supper 2019

On 26 January 2019 the 22nd BritCham Burns Supper to celebrate the immortal memory of Robert Burns will take place. We  promise our guests witty speeches, poetry of Robert Burns, haggis, Scottish bagpipes, raising donations for charity, men in kilts, traditional music and dancing and, of course, good time during the evening. By tradition the Patron of the event is H.M. Ambassador.

Please remember that Burns Supper is an excellent opportunity to strengthen your relationship with colleagues, celebrate with your friends or to invite your clients to a very special evening.

Dress Code: Dinner jacket/Evening dress or Highland dress

More than 150 seats have already been sold so be quick to get your ticket - as in the past, table spots will be given out on a first-come, first served basis and the simplest way to secure yours is either to e-mail events@britcham.lv or to call (371) 25 45 6000Website registration is also open.

Special attention will be given to those who purchase a Contributing Table (for 10) which will not only be placed at the head of the queue for table places but will also entitle the acquirer to display their clan, tartan or corporate logo and also mentioned on all Burns Supper 2019 informational materials as supporters. Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns, International School of Latvia and King's College Latvia have already booked Contributing Tables, join them and ensure a favourable table position. 

Ticket and table prices are as follows:

  • Single ticket: €100.00
  • Table of 10: €900.00
  • Contributing table: €1,500.00 
    Includes prime table location, corporate logo on the table and opportunity to display a roll-up banner at the venue.



At the end of last year BritCham team together with H.M. Ambassador Keith Shannon visited the Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel for the tasting of menu for Burns Supper 2019.

Everyone present that day would again like to congratulate Executive Chef Andrejs Kiļģišovs with the amazing meal he had prepared! We can't wait for you to try it as well! The best part being that we can gladly say that the haggis this year has been approved by the British Ambassador himself!

Menu of Burns Supper 2019:


Haggis served with whisky sauce and greens

or (vegetarian option)

Vegetarian Haggis served with whisky sauce and greens

Main course

Juniper berry marinated beef medallion served with pearl barley risotto with forest mushrooms and whisky sauce


Tarragon marinated Scottish salmon served with green peas mash, saffron soufflé and butter sauce

or (vegetarian option)

Pearl barley risotto with oven baked pumpkin


Tipsy Laird Trifle

When signing up, please choose the starter and main course and also inform us, if you have any special dietary requirements.  

Those who already have signed up but have not informed us of their menu choices should do so by filling in this form or either by email events@britcham.lv or call us on (+371) 2545 6000.

If we do not receive the requested information your “default” starter will be haggis served with whisky sauce and greens and main course - juniper berries marinated beef medallion served with pearl barley risotto with forest mushrooms and whisky sauce.


Scottish Dance Lessons

In preparation of Burns Supper 2019 we would like to offer the opportunity to learn (or polish) Scottish dancing skills. The lessons will be led by Astrida Rogule and will take place at Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel on:

  • Wednesday 16 January 2019 at 19:00
  • Wednesday 23 January 2019 at 19:00


Those willing to take part should register in advance by emailing events@britcham.lv or call 25 45 6000. Please note that the lessons are available only to registered Burns Supper 2018 guests. 

For the lessons you should take with you shoes suitable for dancing and bottled water to refresh during the diligent work.

Charity Raffle

All income from the Charity Raffle at the Burns Supper 2019 will be donated to the BritCham Charity Fund to provide support to different projects and causes. The aim for 2019 is to establish collaboration with approximately 4-6 new partners - orphanages and crisis centers in Latvia. You can find out more about the BritCham Charity Fund and the projects we have supported here. 

We are working diligently to gather diverse, interesting and exciting prizes for the raffle. We hope they will be enticing enough for you to actively take part and at the same time generously support the Fund.
